Celebrating 10 Years of People, Partnerships and Progress

From two borrowed desks back in 2016 to now a £500 million turnover business in 2026, we’re proud to celebrate Omnia Outsourcing’s 10-year anniversary!

That’s a decade of sustained growth, trusted partnerships and commitment to supporting contractors and businesses across the UK.

And it all began in 2016, when Jay Pittaway, Dale Simkiss and Iain Herron founded Omnia in a small, shared office space provided by a friend’s IT company. Back then, we had one simple ambition: to build a compliant, people-first outsourcing business that’s focused on doing the simple things well.

We stuck with that ambition.

As Jay Pittaway, Founder of Omnia Outsourcing, puts it:

“The success of Omnia to date is a testament to our people, our clients, our partners, and our commitment to delivering quality service every day. We have built a business based on trust, relationships, and results, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

The business quickly built a reputation for reliability, compliance and exceptional service. Within just one year, we’d secured our first office, grown to five employees, expanded to 14 clients and achieved a whopping £10 million turnover milestone. And by 2018, that turnover had doubled again, supported by the successful onboarding of over 200 contractors through our first major client transfer. That same year, we also became proud sponsors of our local football club, Reading FC.

In 2023, a management buyout led by Darrell Mott began a new era for the business, with founder Jay Pittaway continuing to help guide Omnia’s future growth. The same year also saw Sean White join as Managing Director, who helped launch our Sheffield office. And in another proud milestone, the Omnia logo was seen on Premier League grounds for the very first time!

The following years saw further expansion, great partnerships, industry recognition and the acquisition of Churchill Knight. We became one of the first companies to hold both FCSA and SafeRec certifications, became a Capital on Tap business partner, and was recognised as one of Grant Thornton’s Top 25 Privately Owned Businesses in 2025.

Throughout our journey, we’ve remained deeply connected to our community. From supporting charitable causes such as Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service to navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic together, relationships have always stayed at the heart of everything we do.

Sean White, Managing Director, added:

“Omnia has come a long way over the past 10 years, establishing itself as one of the leading contractor payroll service providers in the sector. We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating this milestone, but we’re not resting on our achievements. We remain committed to continually improving the experience we provide for both our clients and contractors, while also striving to be an employer of choice for our dedicated and hardworking team.”

Today, we support thousands of contractors across the nation and have grown into a £500 million turnover business – a milestone we don’t take lightly, and one that reflects both the amazing work of our team and the trust placed in us by clients and partners over the past decade.

Omnia remains focused on innovation, service excellence and continued sustainable growth. Our recent senior appointments, including Steven Roberts as Chief Technology Officer and Joshua Richards as Strategy and Systems Manager, show our strong ambitions for the years to come.
